Sigmund Freud was born on May 6, 1856, in Moravia (at that time part of the Austrian Empire, now Czech Republic). He moved to Leipzig, Germany, at an early age, and a short time later to Vienna. He studied medicine at the University of Vienna and received a doctorate in medicine. Sigmund Freud is the founding father of psychoanalysis. He applied the interpretation of dreams and developed the model of the model of id, ego and super-ego in the psychic apparatus. After the annexation of Austria to Nazi Germany in 1938, Sigmund Freud and his family emigrated to London. He died there on September 23, 1939.
